PROJECT: Xpmissions

Kamloops

It's always so great to perform at home and I think everyone gave it their all because there were people in the audience that we knew.  Bible Truth is always a fantastic support to what we are doing and this night was no different. In fact they asked if we would come back.  (which of course we will)

PROJECT: XPMISSIONS

Grande Prairie

The food was AMAZING!!!  All of us ate until we couldn't eat anymore! And then we wished we asked them to leave the food out so we could eat again as soon as we had room.  They were so hospitable.

The workshops were great and we loved watching how much the dancers freedom increased. The pic is from the workshop time.

The show went really well and we tried yet another ending.... still searching for the perfect ending I guess.

We really liked it there!  They were very good to us!

PROJECT: XPMISSION

Pittsburgh

We did 4 performances in the Pittsburg area and it was EXHAUSTING! But of course worth it.  We found ourselves arriving at a venue and really wanting to just lay down and fall asleep.  We would mark through a show and then perform. Everyone said that once we got to the chairs piece they were awake and emotionally committed to the performance.

I am just amazed at how the audiences respond.  So wonderful.

The main thing that struck me on this trip was the cast's excitement towards this education program we are trying to support in Cambodia wtih XPMISSIONS.

Kelowna

POWER WENT OUT!  The power went out during the Science piece and we just finished it singing with no music.  Then in order to waste time we started to argue who was the best element in the beginning of Firecracker. We liked that so much that we kept it in for the rest of the week.

Then the power went out again at the end of Cold Water (I think it was) and so we did Dante's Prayer in silence.  Back stage we were frantically trying to think how to continue.  We quickly decided to skip the upbeat song and I would sing amazing grace while the dancers finished the show.

We LOVED this and ended up rearranging the show for a few nights to try and duplicate those moments.  We didn't end up keeping it though.

PROJECT: CARE OF LOCAL PROSTITUTES AND WORK IN THE RED LIGHT DISTRICT OF AMSTERDAM

Prince George

We got to perform in a venue that was just opening up as an arts center, mainly a music school.  We were the first show they had.  I really liked our hosts and what they were doing so it was an honor to be there for it.

I think the reality of the show started to hit home more on this performance. And of course afterwards the audience was really gracious and loved it.

PROJECT: XPMISSIONS

Calgary/Edmonton

We did something we've never done before for the workshops.  We had 5 painters and we paired them up each with a dancer.  The painter tried to interpret the movement with color and therefore, in essence, painted the movement of the dancer.

It was exciting for the dancer to be able to see their movement in painting form!

We also had a conference all with Patricia King and she told us the stories of the kids form Cambodia.  All of us were in tears and it was literally a life changing hour. That night's performance was unlike any other. All of us were sobbing as we danced.  I am sure there won't be another performance quite like that one.

PROJECT: TOWARDS THE COMPANY AND XPMISSION

Calgary

Our trip to the “Women on the Frontlines” conference in Calgary, AB started on a very early morning on Friday. Heather, Taylor, Emily, and Alyssa all left Kamloops at 7am, and Anna, Kailey, and Alexa followed later that day at 5pm.  As we arrived at the conference we got to meet with Patricia and Andrea which was very exciting for the team. Getting to discuss all the work we have done and the work that is to come was fantastic. We had got there just in time to hear Danielle speak, which was filled with many true heartfelt stories and also wholesome belly laughs. Throughout the day we got to meet amazing people and ate some delicious food. The next morning began with an awesome worship service and then our performance of “The Least of These.” This performance we all could agree was on the most emotional and most powerful audience to perform for. It was amazing. The day carried on with more speakers and some more delicious food, until it was the evening service where Faytene made an announcement of the offering that had taken and were going to give us. We had been given a $9,000 offering. Every one of us broke down in tears of joy and thankfulness knowing that this money is going to help educate and save and change young girls’ lives.  That was the most amazing experience of our lives and we will never be able to repay our gratitude and thankfulness for everyone support and belief in what we are trying and WILL accomplish.
