THE GIRLS OF COURAGE  DONATE

When Aliya was 2 years old, she broke her leg and was traumatized from the experience. In an attempt to give her courage to face future visits to the doctor, her mom created an imaginary group called the Girls of Courage.  She told Aliya stories in which the two of them had superpowers and could help kids.  Before Aliya had a doctor’s appointment, her mom would create a similar story in which Aliya was comforting and giving courage to another kid.  Aliya would tell them, “Be strong! Be brave!”

While Aliya waited to see the doctor, her mom would remind her of what she told the kids in the imaginary stories.

Eventually the stories began to change and quickly Aliya developed a heart to help kids, specifically the poor kids.

Because of Aliya’s passion to help others, her mom started a dance company that tours with mercy/justice type productions.  Through these productions, they are able to raise awareness and funds for the least of these.

THE VISION

In the slums in Cambodia, the children are the poorest of the poor, working to collect garbage, recyclables, and begging. They often end up abused, exploited and sometimes trafficked, selling their bodies or taking pornographic pictures just to support their family.  The problem is poverty!  It fuels this cycle.

The Girls of Courage are part of a preventative project that provides special education sponsorship for kids like these. They can get education and break free from the cycle of exploitation.

When you donate to Girls of Courage, you help educate and empower the poorest of children so they don’t have to live the kinds of lives that they are currently living.

The Girls of Courage are selling bracelets to raise the money.

Currently we have been able to raise enough money to send three Cambodian girls to school for a year. Two of them are siblings and the other wants to become a teacher. By supporting the Girls of Courage, you are changing the lives of these children forever.
